'De Kempen'

About the area

For more than 80 years, the section of Lozen along the Zuid-Willemsvaart, bordering Dutch Limburg, has been called 'de Kempen'. The walking area has a lot in store for lovers of open landscapes. Fields, meadows and active farms determine the view. Some meadows are an invitation to rare meadow birds such as the curlew and the black-tailed godwit. At various places, you can still see the remains of the former swamp in the form of wet oak, birch and alder groves. The ‘Zuid-Willemsvaart’ canal is a striking eye-catcher in the landscape that borders the area along the north side.

Hiking

You can walk the green, brown or red loops. The trails with all information can be found on the hiking map 'De Kempen'.

The red loop of the De Kempen hiking area joins the yellow loop of the ‘Smeetshof’ hiking area. If you like, you can easily combine one hiking area with another.
